South East and South West Cape Coral are the most popular areas due to quick access to Fort Myers and a short boat ride to the Gulf of Mexico. More affordable housing can be found in North West and North East Cape Coral. BEWARE: when looking for an investment property in Cape Coral, be sure to watch out for special assessments placed on converting most North East and North West Cape areas to city water and sewer. These assessments can run up around $20,000 and can have a major impact on your bottom line.
